Evernote Software
Evernote Software
EVERNOTE - the ultimate software fro you PDA and computer copy anything from the net and save and share it for viewing on PC or PDA. Let's start with an overview of the existing features that make Evernote such a compelling product. At its core, Evernote is both a desktop client and a web service, with a Windows client that's been around for about two years. The new private beta Mac client is, generally speaking, kept in feature-parity with its Windows counterpart. Evernote's desktop client allows users to organize text notes, pictures, and clippings from other applications into "notebooks," which basically act similarly to folders or albums in most other applications. As a very welcome touch, notes can be viewed in either a list form (such as Mail, Journler, etc.) or as thumbnails. This can make notes a bit easier to browse through and recognize at a glance, especially if you're organizing a lot of images. A decent set of rich text editing tools are available for text notes (font selection, bold/italic/underline, text justification, etc.), and to-do checkboxes can be created for basic task management. Tasks can be seen online once notebooks are synced, but they cannot be checked off from a browser. Notes can be tagged with arbitrary text. They can also be organized with a "Saved Search" (Evernote's version of a Smart Folder) based on either a query or a tag. Mac users are no strangers to the power of saved searches and smart folders, and these are especially handy in Evernote, as they sync to the Web interface. If tagging isn't enough for you, a recent Evernote update for both Mac and Windows clients introduced geotagging. Phil told me that, for now, geotagging is limited to the manual input of latitude, longitude, and altitude information for each note, but integration with GPS systems is on its way. Geotagging will be even more interesting, however, when we start talking about Evernote's mobile capabilities in a moment. check it out www.evernote.comYour Comments
