Shakira was born in Barranquilla, Columbia. Her classmates called her singing "animal like" because it was so different. But then She started working as belly dancer at a local middle eastern restaurant where she razzled and dazzeled everyone with her moves. Eventually, she put her moves and singing together and started working with a local theater producer who introduced her to a Sony music executive. They signed a three album deal as soon as they saw how talented she was. Shikira is now the highest selling Columbian Artist of all time. From 2005-2007 she produced her last album called Oral Fixation parts 1&2. Which contained top hits like "Whenever, Whereever" & "Hips Don't Lie". In Feburary 2008 Shakira started recording her next album in her studio in Uruguay!
